Lodging Options
We'll be having the party at Goldminer's Daughter
at the base of the Alta Ski area. They've provided us with a group rate of
$85 per night. Below are several other options for staying in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
From Alta to Snowbird it is only about 2 total miles, so all the accomodations are relatively
close to each other in the canyon. Check out the Alta map
to get a lay of the land. If you are coming from sea level and have never been to Altitude
before, we recommend staying a night or 2 in downtown Salt Lake City to help you acclimate.

Alta Hotels 
- Goldminer's Daughter - The GMD is a rustic ski lodge. We've spent many apres ski hours in the bar. We really enjoy the cozy atmosphere. If you stay at the Goldminer's, we definately recommend that you rent a car. The restaurant in the lodge will not be open aside from our Wedding Dinner.
- Cliff Lodge - Snowbird’s flagship accommodations, where JJ and I actually met. The Cliff Spa on the ninth floor is a must go whether you stay at the Cliff or not. Possibly the nicest hotel accomodations available in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
- Lodge at Snowbird - condominium accommodations from hotel bedrooms to one-bedroom studios with loft.
- Iron Blossom at Snowbird - shared-ownership condominium lodge. Those of you with time shares could potentially trade for time here.
- Inn at Snowbird - Accommodations vary from single bedrooms to studios to a studio/loft with attached bedroom.
Alta Condos & Homes
- Hellgate Condos - At the base of the Hellgate Cliffs, have 1 to 4 bedroom units.
- Canyon Services - They manage a bunch of very nice properties in Alta of varying size.
- Blackjack Lodge - Located between Alta and Snowbird, have studio and one bedroom places available.
- Alta Alps Chalet - Located in Albion basin just above the campground, this chalet has three bedrooms and a loft. You'll need a 4x4 to be comfortable getting to it.
- Alta Photohaus - 2 Bedroom Apartment right above the Alta Lodge.
- Chalet Day Johns - Possibly the nicest rental available in Alta, the chalet is an 8500 sq. ft. beauty
- Miles, McIntyre, Travis & Wilkinson's - These four private luxurious rental homes are located at the base of Westward Ho in Alta
Alta Camping
- Albion Basin Campground - Reservations available through ReserveAmerica.com. This campground is at about 9000 feet in the heart of Alta. You'll be camping among the Wildflowers, and may even get to meet the local moose.
